ATTICA – William R. Alenduff, 57, of Rt. 2, Attica, was dead on arrival at 5 p.m. Thursday at Community Hospital at Williamsport, following an apparent heart attack in his hardware store at Attica. Mr. Alenduff was owner of Alenduff’s Hardware and the Montgomery Ward catalog agency at Attica. He was chairman of Fountain County Commissioners and a member of Wabash Lodge 708 F & AM, Western Indiana Shrine Club, Eagles Lodge of Attica, and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was formerly employed with Harrison Steel Casting Co. at Attica for 23 years. He was a lifelong resident of Rt. 2, Attica. He was born May 23, 1892, a son of Archie H. and Josephine Clark Alenduff. He was a graduate of Attica High School. On Oct. 11, 1941, he was married at Attica to the former Esta Lou Munson, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Martin A. of Attica, John E., Rt. 1, Attica, and Master Sgt. William L. of San Clemente, Calif.; a daughter. Mrs. Kenneth (Peggy) Casper of Noblesville; the mother, of Lafayette; two brothers, Charles R. of Attica and Jack of Lafayette; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Services will be at 10.30 a.m. Monday in the Maus Chapel at Attica with the Rev. Marvin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. Sunday with Masonic memorial services at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to charity. – jlr
